NORMAN, Oklahoma – Junior
Thao My Nguyen authored an even-par 72 to lead UNCW during the second round of the NCAA Women's Golf Norman Regional at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
No. 2-ranked Texas moved into the top spot in the team standings after carding a 7-under 281 and has a one-stroke advantage over No. 10 Florida, which led after Monday's opening round.
Nguyen, who posted just one birdie in her opening round effort, responded in the second round by posting three birdies in her first seven holes. The Hanoi, Vietnam, native added another birdie on the back nine to finish at even-par for the round and move into a tie for 46th place.
The Seahawks, who are making their ninth NCAA Regional appearance, complete play at the Norman Regional with the third round on Wednesday. UNCW will be paired with Sam Houston State and Fairleigh Dickinson and will tee off from the No. 10 hole beginning at 9:20 a.m. CT.
