SUNSET, South Carolina – Freshman Phu Khine fired a two-under-par 70 to lead UNCW during the opening round of the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Sunday afternoon.
 
Vanderbilt, ranked No. 7 in the latest GolfStat rankings, and No. 14 Auburn share the early lead at 10-under-par while No. 31 Illinois follows in third place at five-under-par.
 
Auburn's Julie McCarthy, who is the No. 4-ranked player in the GolfStat rankings, holds the individual lead after firing a six-under-par 66 in the opening round.
 
Khine, who is tied for 12th after 18 holes, carded three birdies during the opening round with just one bogey.
