Seahawks Open Spring Portion of Schedule

GREENSBORO, Georgia – Junior Thao My Nguyen stands at even par through 27 holes as UNCW opened the spring portion of its schedule with the first day of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Seahawks, who are playing in their first tournament since The Landfall Tradition in October, are tied with Kentucky at 15-over par. Host Mercer and Texas Tech hold the team lead at 10-over par through the first half of the 54-hole event.
 
Nguyen finished at par in each of the three nine-hole segments and enters Sunday's play in second place.
 
Sophomore Rachael Mast follows in a tie for third place after carding a one-over par finish in the first day of action. Freshman Phu Khine holds a share of 34th place while senior Ellinoora Moisio is tied for 44th place.
 
Freshman Madison Issacson will begin play on Sunday in a tie for 67th place to complete the Seahawks' efforts.
 
Up Next: The Seahawks complete play at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday. The teams will play 27 holes to complete the tournament.
