CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina – Junior Caroline Cahill, sophomore Amy Wooten and freshman Mallory Fobes each shot a three-over par 75 to lead UNCW during the opening round of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Course on Friday afternoon.
 
The Seahawks carded a 302 team score to close out the first round in a tie for 16th place with Rollins College. Wake Forest shot a six-under par 282 to take the early lead over Kentucky and Alabama.
 
Cahill, Wooten and Fobes are all tied for 59th place after the first round. Senior Thao My Nguyen fired a five-over par 77 to close out Friday's action with a share of 74th place.
 
The second round of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday morning with a 9 a.m. split tee start.
