MOUNT PLEASANT, South Carolina – Senior
Lyberty Anderson carded a one-under-par 143 to lead UNCW during the opening day of the Charleston Invitational at RiverTowne Country Club on Monday afternoon.
Day 1 Results
Led by Anderson, the Seahawks finished the first 36 holes in seventh place after authoring a 593 team score. Coastal Carolina holds the team lead at three-under-par (284-289=573) while Campbell, the No. 35 team in the latest GolfStat rankings, follows in second place at five-over-par (295-286=581).
Anderson fired an even-par 72 in the opening round before closing out the day with a one-under-par 71 in the second round, which included a pair of birdies.
Senior
Kayla Thompson follows in a tie for 16th place at two-over-par after posting a one-over-par 73 in both rounds. Junior
Ellinoora Moisio is tied for 25th place at five-over-par (74-75=149) while sophomore
Thao My Nguyen holds a share of 53rd place at 11-over-par (81-74=155).
Freshman
Caroline Cahill closes out the Seahawks' contingent in a tie for 78th place.
