WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Before the ball drops on the 2018 calendar year, Coach Karen Barefoot and the UNCW women's basketball team has hopes of finishing the year with one more win as the Seahawks venture to East Carolina for a 2 p.m. matinee inside Minges Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

The Seahawks, 6-4 on the season, will be returning to the hardwood for the first time since edging Longwood, 35-33, on Dec. 21 inside Trask Coliseum. ECU, meanwhile, carries a 9-3 record into its non-conference finale after falling at Duke by an 83-66 margin on Friday night.

Sunday's Starting Five
Series Business – UNCW and East Carolina will meet for the 67th time on Sunday in a series that dates back to the 1973-74 season. The Pirates hold a 32-24 lead in the series, but the Seahawks have won three of the last four encounters.  
 
History Lesson – UNCW junior guard Lacey Suggs recorded her first career 20-point effort in last year's meeting with the Pirates after exploding for 20 points.   
 
Goose Eggs – Longwood became the first UNCW opponent in nearly five years to not make a three-pointer when the Lancers were 0-for-5 from long range in last Friday's 35-33 contest. It snapped a streak of 146 games with at least one three-pointer for the Seahawks' opponents.   
 
Singled Out – Redshirt senior guard Shrita Parker was held to a season-low nine points in last Friday's win over Longwood, snapping a streak of nine straight double-digit efforts.   
 
Year in Review – The Seahawks have authored an 11-17 record during the 2018 calendar year.
