WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Led by senior Virginia Elena Carta and freshman Gina Kim, No. 5 Duke overcame an eight-stroke deficit to win its fourth Landfall Tradition title after outlasting South Carolina and Arkansas in the final round at the Country Club of Landfall on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Devils, who are the third team to win back-to-back crowns in the tournament's 17-year history, posted a 285 team score in the final round to edge South Carolina by two strokes. Arkansas, which held the lead after Saturday's second round, placed third in the 18-team field with an 882 team score, including a 297 mark in the final round.
Elena Carta and Kim shared individual medalist honors after finishing the tournament at even par. Elena Carta, the 39th-ranked player in the GolfStat rankings, posted her third straight even-par round to close the tournament.
Kim, meanwhile, entered the final round in a tie for ninth place before shooting a three-under-par 69 to earn her first individual title of her brief college career.
Arkansas seniors Dylan Kim, the second-ranked player in the nation, and Kaylee Benton finished one stroke back to claim a share of third place.

Thao My Nguyen was tied for 32nd place.
