ELON, North Carolina – The Seahawks continue their regular season ending nine-game roadswing at Elon for a Colonial Athletic Association series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.

UNCW (24-24) has already clinched a spot in the CAA tournament later this month and is looking to keep its slim lead for first place in the conference. Last weekend, the Seahawks swept then conference-leader Northeastern to improve to 12-6 and holds a half-game lead over the Huskies.

Elon (21-28, 11-10) currently holds the final tournament berth and will close out conference play with this weekend's series.

Due to rain in this weekend's forecast, Saturday's game has been moved to a 6 p.m. start. The series is slated to conclude on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

???????UNCW has heated up both at the plate and on the mound in its last 10 games, going 6-4 while hitting .265 while the staff has limited opponents to a .226 average. Leading the way at the plate have been Brian Mims with a .450 average while Casey Golden has belted five home runs.

Alex Royalty and Zarion Sharpe have shined on the mound with Royalty striking out 16 in his last 14 innings while Sharpe is 2-0 and has been named CAA Rookie-of-the-Week twice.

???????UNCW will have its hands full with Elon's Ryne Ogren, who ranks among the conference leaders in average (.361) and doubles with 19. Kyle Jackson's 11 home runs lead the team and he's now hit 10 or more in each of the last two seasons.

Freshman righty Kyle Brnovich (5-4) owns a 3.05 ERA and has struck out 84 in 73.2 innings.

The Seahawks own a 36-24 lead in the all-time series, but the Phoenix lead 13-11 at Latham Park.
