Straume, Barisano Pace Seahawks At CCU's Battle At The Beach

CONWAY, South Carolina – Senior Madara Straume and junior Sabrina Barisano went undefeated in four matches as the UNCW women's tennis team opened play on Friday in Coastal Carolina's Battle At The Beach at the Stevens Tennis Complex.

The round-robin event concludes Saturday and wraps up the fall season for Coach Hans Olsen and the Seahawks.

Overall, the Seahawks went 5-3 in singles and 2-2 in doubles on the first day of the tournament. Straume and Barisano each fashioned a 4-0 record – winning two singles and two doubles matches.

The Seahawks open Saturday's action with doubles vs. Campbell at 9 a.m. and continue with singles vs. UNCG at 10 a.m. and singles vs. Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m.
