Men's Soccer Preview: NC State


WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's soccer team faces its final non-conference test of the regular season Tuesday night when the Seahawks make the trip to Raleigh for a 7 p.m. contest against NC State.

The Seahawks enter Tuesday's outing with a 9-4-0 record after dropping a 2-0 decision at James Madison on Saturday night. The Wolfpack, meanwhile, holds a 6-4-3 record after posting back-to-back scoreless ties against USC Upstate and No. 10 Virginia last week.         

Five Things to Know
  1. Tuesday's game between the Seahawks and the Wolfpack will be the 25th meeting between the two in-state programs. NC State leads the all-time series by a 20-3-1 margin.
  2. UNCW will be making its first visit to NC State since Nov. 8, 2003, which ended in a 1-0 loss in double overtime.
  3. Each of the last seven meetings between the teams have been decided by one goal or less with three overtime contests.
  4. UNCW ranks second in the Colonial Athletic Association with a 0.91 goals against average.
  5. The Seahawks have posted a 5-2-0 record away from UNCW Soccer Stadium this season.
