CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina – A trio of UNCW women's golfers – senior
Kayla Thompson, junior
Ellinoora Moisio and freshman
Caroline Cahill – each shot a two-over par 74 to lead the Seahawks during the second round of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the UNC Finley Golf Course on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks carded a 301 team score to finish the round in 18th place. Duke, meanwhile, shot an impressive 17-under par 271 to extend its lead to 10 strokes over Alabama.
Thompson enters the final round of the tournament in a tie for 40th place with a two-over par 146 score through two rounds. Moisio is tied for 73rd place while Cahill and sophomore
Thao My Nguyen hold a share of 81st place.
Freshman
Rachael Mast is tied for 92nd place after shooting an 84 in the second round.
