WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Fresh off an eye-opening upset of Colonial Athletic Association favorite Northeastern, the UNCW men's basketball team returns to Trask Coliseum this week for two games in three days against Delaware and Drexel.

The Seahawks, 6-7 and 1-1, play host to the defending CAA champion Blue Hens on Thursday at 7 p.m. before wrapping up the home stand with a Saturday night clash against Drexel.

"Delaware and Drexel are two very good teams and just like everyone else, trying to find their way," said first-year UNCW Head Coach Kevin Keatts, who picked up his first career CAA victory in Boston.  "We're excited about being back home and look forward to getting back on the floor."

The Seahawks delivered one of their most complete efforts of the season in Monday's 75-68 stunner over the Huskies at Matthews Arena. Keatts' club shot a sizzling 62.5 percent in the second half en route to 54.4 percent shooting on the night.

The triumph pushed UNCW's record to 3-6 away from home during a treacherous schedule that has featured nine road games in 13 contests. Freshman guard Jordon Talley anchored three players in double figures with a career-high 21 points, followed by senior guard Addison Spruill with 20 points and senior guard Freddie Jackson with 18.

"Anytime you go on the road and get a win, it's huge," added Keatts. "I thought out guys played really well on both ends of the floor and competed well. Northeastern is a very well coached team and we were fortunate to get out of there with a win.

"In any league, but especially the CAA, a road win is big. I felt like we had our chances at home against Hofstra and let it slip it away. We played 37 minutes of good basketball Monday night at Northeastern."

Jackson, a 6-4, 180-pound senior from Wilmington, is one of the CAA's most explosive players and ranks sixth in the league in three key categories - scoring (14.9 ppg), rebounding (6.3 rpg) and field goal percentage (.464). "Freddie's have a very good year for us and I'm proud of him because he deserves to have a very good season," said Keatts.

Delaware is coming off an outstanding 2013-14 campaign that saw the Blue Hens win their first CAA championship with a 25-10 overall record and 14-2 conference ledger. The Blue Hens downed the Seahawks twice last season, earning a close 66-65 win in Newark before cruising, 70-57, in Wilmington,

"Delaware is the defending champion and Monte has done a very good job. And you can't say enough about the job Bruiser (James "Bruiser" Flint) has done at Drexel for so many years."

In their last outing, senior guard Kyle Anderson set Delaware's career three-point record, but the Blue Hens fell, 71-58, to Hofstra in Hempstead on Monday night. Anderson finished with 16 points, including three triples, while freshman Chivarsky Corbett added 11 points and six boards for the Blue Hens. UD shot 37.9 percent from the field and connected on only 5-of-18 behind the arc.

The Seahawks have faced Delaware more than any other former America East member since UD, Hofstra, Towson and Drexel joined the league 11 years ago. UNCW holds a 16-10 advantage in the series and owns four CAA Tournament victories (2002, 2003, 2006, 2008) over the Blue Hens. UD has taken eight of the last 10 meetings, though, won five in a row and swept the series in each of the last two years.

UNCW has won eight of 11 games between the two teams in Wilmington. UD claimed the initial matchup, 65-60, on Jan. 12, 2002, before the Seahawks reeled off eight consecutive wins. The Blue Hens, however, have won the last two pairings at Trask Coliseum, including last year's 70-57 decision on Feb. 26.

Following tonight's game with the Blue Hens, the Seahawks remain at home to entertain Drexel in the first of two regular season meetings with the Dragons on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game concludes a grueling stretch of four games in eight days for Keatts' club.
