KULJANIN SCORES EIGHT POINTS IN WIN OVER MEXICO
LAS VEGAS, NEV. - Senior center Vladimir Kuljanin of UNC Wilmington scored eight points in just six minutes as Canada outscored Mexico, 97-80, in second round action of the FIBA Americas Championship Wednesday at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center.
Kuljanin is picking up some valuable experience in the tournament and is expected to rejoin the Seahawks after the competition concludes. The win evened Canada's record at 3-3 in the 10-team international event.
In Wednesday's contest, Kuljanin made all three of his field goal attempts and added a pair of free throws. He also had one blocked shot.
Jermaine Anderson's 17 points paced Canada, which owned a 61-30 advantage on the boards behind 11 rebounds apiece from Denham Brown and Levon Kendall.
Canada wraps up second-round play with a 9:30 p.m. matchup tonight against Puerto Rico.
