Volleyball Swept By West Florida

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCW sophomore Sam Vanda reached double digits in kills for the third straight outing, but the Seahawks were swept by West Florida (25-20, 25-15, 25-21) on Saturday at the I-85 Invitational at the G.B. Hodge Center.

The Argonauts improved to 4-0 in their first season at the NCAA Division I level while the Seahawks slid to 3-4.

Vanda finished with a team-leading 10 kills, nine digs, and notched a season-high four aces.

Led by Delaney Hanowell's match-high seven blocks, the Argos fashioned a 10-6 lead at the net.

UNCW next hosts the UNCW Hampton Inn University Invitational beginning on Sept. 11, with matches against Norfolk State at noon and UNCA at 6:30 pm.
