Keay, Roberts Lead Men's Soccer to CAA Road Win

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Forward Cameron Keay scored 31 seconds into the match, and defender Jake Roberts added the game-winner in the 76th minute to keep the No. 23 UNCW men's soccer team undefeated in Coastal Athletic Association play with a 2-1 win over Campbell on Saturday night at the Eakes Athletic Complex.

The Seahawks improved to 4-1-1 overall and remained atop the CAA South division standings with a perfect 3-0 record. The Fighting Camels remained winless through seven games, including three league contests.

Keay's second goal of the season came off an assist by defender Benjamin Gooding less than a minute into the match to give UNCW an early lead that was equalized six minutes later by Campbell's Jayco Castro with the helper from Xander Naguib.

The score remained even at 1-1 until midway through the second half when Roberts, a senior who spent 2023-25 with the Camels, including an All-CAA Third Team campaign last season, scored the game-winner with a header played into the box by midfielder Kieran Radke to keep the the Seahawks' perfect league record intact.

UNCW fired off a season-high 23 shots, including 11 on-goal, while limiting Campbell Kaedan Johnson to nine attempts.

Goalkeeper Alex Kron totaled five saves while Camels netminder fashioned nine saves.

UNCW returns home on Tuesday to host St. John's, a 2025 NCAA Tournament participant, at 7 p.m. in a White Out game.
