WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW women's soccer forward Kamrey Watkins earned her first CAA honor Monday, being named Rookie of the Week after helping the Seahawks remain unbeaten through non-conference play.

A Richlands, N.C., native, Watkins recorded a goal and an assist in UNCW's final two non-conference matches. She assisted Hailey Longwell on the opening goal before scoring the Seahawks' second goal in a 2-0 victory at Charlotte. Watkins also recorded a shot on goal in Sunday's scoreless draw against Coastal Carolina.

The Seahawks finished non-conference play with a 5-0-4 record and remain unbeaten through nine matches.

UNCW opens CAA play Sunday, Sept. 20, at Hampton. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the match will air on FloCollege.
