Wasilewski, Murphy Pace UNCW In Loss At #19 UNC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNCW dropped a 3-0 decision to 19th-ranked North Carolina on Sunday in college volleyball action at Carmichael Arena.

The road loss evens UNCW's record at 2-2 while the Tar Heels opened their home schedule with a win (25-13, 25-12, 25-10) to improve to 2-0.

Nadia Wasilewski and Elaina Murphy paced the Seahawks with five kills apiece while Morgan Esmie collected 10 digs for her third double-digit outing of the season.

UNC's Chelsea Thorpe and Bridget Malone held match-high honors with nine kills each.

The Seahawks return to the road this Thursday when they take on Alabama State at 6 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C. UNCW will also face Gardner-Webb (Friday, 11 a.m.) and West Florida (Saturday, 10 a.m.) in the I-85 Invitational hosted by USC Upstate and Gardner-Webb.
