Kron, Seahawks Play Paladins to Scoreless Draw

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Junior Alex Kron fashioned a career-high eight saves to help the UNCW men's soccer team to a scoreless draw vs. Furman on Sunday afternoon at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Seahawks remained unbeaten early in 2026 at 2-0-1 before 1,006 fans on hand for Youth League Day. The Paladins, a 2025 national semifinalist, stand 1-1-2 this season.

The teams totaled a combined 30 shots, including 19 in the first half. Furman held a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal and a 9-3 margin on corner kicks while UNCW totaled 10 saves.

The Seahawks have not surrendered a goal over the first three matches of the season for the first time since 2018.

UNCW hosts defending Coastal Athletic Association Champion Elon on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the conference opener for both teams.
