Hamilton, Huddlestone Combine For Shutout

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – UNCW's Camille Hamilton and Makayla Huddleston combined on a four-hit shutout at Drexel to capture the Coastal Athletic Association series opener, 7-0, on Friday at the Drexel Softball Field.

The Seahawks pushed their records to 26-14 on the season and 13-3 in the CAA. The Dragons, meanwhile, dipped to 18-19 and 7-9.
Hamilton (11-3) blanked the Dragons on four hits, walked nine and struck out two in five innings of work. Huddleston followed with two shutout innings, facing just one batter above the minimum over the final two innings.

Emily Whitwell's RBI single in the top of the third got the Seahawks on the board and would be the only run they'd need. Whitwell added an RBI single in the fourth to make it 5-0 UNCW.

Cassidy Relay added two hits for UNCW and scored twice.

Courtney Kols (17-13) was tagged with the loss, lasting just 2.1 innings.

Olivia Sciulli had two hits for Drexel.

The Seahawks and Dragons will play a doubleheader on Saturday at noon to wrap up the series.
