Silver, Ferrito Pace Women's Basketball In Setback

GREENSBORO, N.C. –Kylah Silver and Mary Ferrito combined for 28 points as UNCW's fourth-quarter comeback came up short in a 55-46 loss to host North Carolina A&T in women's basketball action on Thursday.

The Aggies, who gained a split of the home-and-home series, upped their record to 12-16 overall and 7-10 in the Coastal Athletic Association. UNCW moved to 6-22 and 2-15.

A three-pointer from Icyss Storm with 4:34 remaining cut the UNCW deficit to 48-46, but the Aggies closed out the game with a 7-0 run for the win.

Silver led the Seahawks with 15 points while Ferrito added 13. Ferrito grabbed seven rebounds and handed out five assists. Storm finished with nine points and matched Ferrito with seven rebounds.

D'Mya Tucker paced NCAT with 12 points, and Darrionna Howard had 10. Chaniya Clark grabbed 10 rebounds and scored nine points, just missing a double-double.

The Seahawks conclude the regular season on Mar. 7 at Elon. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
