Women's Tennis Blanks Pride, 7-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW extended its winning streak to three matches on Saturday after making quick work of visiting Hofstra, 7-0, at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

UNCW raised its record to 6-3 with the win while the Pride fell to 2-12.

Lucia Gomez and Simay Keles eased to a 601 win at second doubles and Elif Albayrak and Eda Arli grabbed the doubles point for UNCW with a 6-2 win at number one doubles.

In singles, Alex Borcich swept number six singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, and Keles sealed the win at number four singles following a 6-3, 6-0 win.

Arli moved to 7-2 at number one singles with her fourth consecutive win.

The Seahawks host North Carolina Central on Sunday at 2 p.m.
