Men's Tennis Takes #64 Wichita State To The Limit

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Wichita State edged UNCW, 4-3, on Thursday at the UNCW Tennis Complex, with the final point being decided at number six singles.

The Shockers, who are ranked 64th in the ITA rankings, ran their winning streak to seven with the road win and are 11-7 on the season. The Seahawks saw their three-match winning streak halted and moved to 5-8.

WSU's Rodrigo Cruz edged Brady Hussey, 6-4, 7-6, winning the point on a 7-3 tie-breaker.

Earning singles wins, all in straight sets, were Lukas Steffen (6-4, 6-3) at number one singles, Alex de Gabriele (6-4, 6-4) at number two, and Jordi Domenech (6-3, 6-4) at number three.

The Shockers captured the doubles point on courts one and three.

The Seahawks visit VCU next on March 22 for a noon start.
