UNCW Blanks #72 Kennesaw State, 4-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW men's tennis posted its second shutout in as many matches with a 4-0 win over 72nd-ranked Kennesaw State on Friday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks (4-7) stayed perfect at home with a 4-0 record. The Owls, meanwhile, fell to 9-4.

The doubles point went to the Seahawks with Brady Hussey and Alex de Gabriele (6-2) and Lukas Steffen and William Dean (6-3) cruising to wins on courts one and two, respectively.

At number one singles, Steffen dispatched his opponent quickly, 6-2 and 6-3, for a 2-0 lead, and Oscar Baumgartnerfollowed with a straight-set (6-4, 6-4) win on court four.

Jordi Domenech clinched the match for the Seahawks by rallying from a 1-0 deficit to win in three sets.

The Seahawks host Coastal Athletic Association rival William & Mary on Saturday ay 3 p.m.
