Women's Tennis Rallies Past Blue Hose

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the final four matches to knock off Presbyterian, 5-2, in women's tennis action on Sunday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

UNCW pushed its record to 2-1 with the home-opening win while the Blue Hose fell to 4-7.

Presbyterian won the doubles point and later took the lead with a win at number four singles. Katelyn Hubbard, however, drew the Seahawks even with a straight-set win on court 3, and Alex Borcich broke the deadlock with a three-set win over Sofia Ridrigo Hidalgo at fifth singles.

Elif Albayrak clinched the match at number two singles.

The Seahawks take on Sacred Heart in Orlando, Fla., on Mar. 5, when they next retake the court.
