Ferrito Pours In Career-HIgh 23

CHARLESTON, S.C. – UNCW's Mary Ferrito established a new career-high of 23 points, but the Coastal Athletic Association leader, the College of Charleston, eased past UNCW, 81-61, on Friday in women's basketball action at TD Arena.

With the win, the Cougars finished off a sweep of the Seahawks to improve to 19-3 and 11-0 in the league. UNCW fell to 5-17 and 1-10.

Ferrito finished with 23 points following that standout performance from deep. The senior guard finished 7-12 overall from the floor, including 6-of-9 from three-point range, and 3-for-3 from the line. Her previous career high was 22 points against Hampton on Feb. 4, 2024.

Kylah Silver added 16 points and Rori Cox chipped in 11 points and she grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Icyss Storm doled out a career-best five assists.

Grace Ezebilo led four CofC players in double digits with 15 points and she held game-high honors with 19 rebounds. Tyja Beans and Taryn Barbott had 15 apiece and Tylor Barbott rounded out the quartet with 11.

The Seahawks host North Carolina A&T next on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
