Women's Hoops Rallies Past N.C. A&T

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Powered by a career-high 33 points from graduate guard Rori Cox, the UNCW women's basketball team rallied past visiting North Carolina A&T, 69-64, on Alumni Night on Friday at Trask Coliseum.

The Seahawks halted a 10-game losing skid to move to 2-11 in the Coastal Athletic Association and 6-17 overall. The Aggies fell to 9-14 in 2025-26 and 4-8 in the league with their first loss in Wilmington since 1990.

Cox finished one rebound shy of a double-double with nine and was joined in double figures by redshirt sophomore Kylah Silver's 12-point, eight-rebound effort.

N.C. A&T had three players in double-digits led by Chaniya Clark's double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, along with Paris Locke with 14 and D'Mya Tucker with 10.

After trailing 38-30 at halftime and by as many as 10 in the first half, UNCW limited the Aggies to 2-of-11 shooting from the field in the third quarter, outscoring N.C. A&T 20-8 in the process, to flip the advantage to 50-46 entering the final period.

The Seahawks never trailed in the closing minutes, despite the Aggies making it a one-possession game on four occasions in the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer by Crystal Hardy with five seconds to go.

Senior guard Mary Ferrito, who played all 40 minutes, sealed the win with a pair of free throws in the waning seconds.

UNCW closes out Homecoming Weekend on Sunday with its annual Play4Kay game against Campbell at 1 p.m.
