Women's Golf Concludes Play at Chevron Collegiate

HUMBLE Texas – The UNCW women's golf team closed out play at the Chevron Collegiate, hosted by the University of Houston, with a 12th-place finish at the Golf Club of Houston on Tuesday.

The Seahawks shot 292-289-300=881 over the two-day tournament with senior Hannah Altman leading the Seahawks with a share of 28th place.

North Carolina cruised to the tournament title, six strokes ahead of Oregon and seven in front of third-place Baylor. The Ducks' Kiara Romero carded an 11-under tournament score for individual medalist honors.

UNCW's Valencia Chang finished tied for third in the field with 14 birdies while the Seahawks tied for seventh, with the host Cougars, with 42 team birdies.

The Seahawks return to action next week to stage the River Landing Classic in Wallace from Mar. 2-3.
