BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – Guard Jahnathan Lamothe scored a season-high 17 points and center Patrick Wessler achieved his 14th double-double as the UNCW men's basketball team earned a 73-68 road win at Campbell on Saturday afternoon at Gore Arena.

The Seahawks improved to 24-4 overall and 13-2 in Coastal Athletic Association play with their fifth straight win to sweep the season series over the Fighting Camels (13-15, 7-8 CAA) for the second straight year.

Lamothe contributed 15 of his team-high 17 points in the first half with four three-pointers, while guard Christian May achieved all 13 of his points following halftime. Wessler matched his season-high with 14 rebounds to go with 11 points.

Campbell forward Chris Field Jr. equaled Lamothe's point total for game-high honors while Cam Gregory (11) and CJ Smith (12) combined for 23 points on 6-for-22 shooting.

After closing the first half with six unanswered to carry a slim 36-35 advantage into the break, UNCW extended its lead to a game-high seven, 44-37, with eight of the first 10 points of the second half at 17:41, including a pair of Nolan Hodge three-pointers.

The Camels then rattled off 11 straight points and outscored the Seahawks 20-6 over the next 9:46 of play to take their largest lead of the game, also seven points at 57-50, with 7:55 to go.

From there, UNCW clamped down defensively and outscored Campbell 23-11 over the final eight minutes, including holding the home team to 33 percent shooting (3-for-9) over the last 5:13 of play for the win.
