Men's Tennis Clipped By North Florida, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida slipped past visiting UNCW, 4-3, in men's tennis action on Friday, by rallying to win a pair of three-set decisions to close out the match at the UNF Tennis Complex.

The Ospreys ran their record to 5-3 with the non-conference win while the Seahawks saw their modest two-match winning streak halted to fall to 2-3.

Jordi Domenech and Tomas Marin delivered the doubles point for the Seahawks by outlasting Aron Major and Youssef Labbene, 7-6 (7-3).

Lukas Steffen pushed the lead to 2-0 with a straight-set (6-3, 6-2) win at number one singles, extending his winning streak to three matches.

Alex deGabriele, who also has now won three straight outings, made it 3-1 UNCW with a 6-4, 7-5 victory at third singles.

The Seahawks tackle eighth-ranked UCF on Sunday in Orlando at 11:30 a.m.
