Cox Nets Career-High 29 In Overtime Loss

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Rori Cox poured in a career-high 29 points, including an overtime-forcing three-pointer, but UNCW was unable to upend Campbell on Tuesday, falling 67-61 at Gore Arena in Coastal Athletic Association women's basketball action.

Campbell (13-8, 6-2 CAA) remained perfect at home with the win to move to 8-0 at Gore Arena. The Seahawks fell back to 5-14 with the loss and 1-7 in the league.

Cox knocked down a three-pointer with two seconds remaining to force overtime. UNCW outscored the Camels, 19-9, in the fourth quarter.

Cox's 29 points eclipsed her previous high of 26 set last season at Virginia Union. She added nine rebounds and three assists. Mary Ferrito added 13 points.

Four Camels finished in double figures, led by Olivia Tucker's 18 points. Gianni Boone contributed 12 and Jasmine Nivar and Jasmine Felton had 10 apiece. Tucker also doled out a game-high five assists.

Cox's point total was the highest by a Seahawk since 2015 when Brie Mobley had a program-record 46 against Delaware (Feb. 26, 2015).

The Seahawks host Hampton on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. when they next return to the court.
