WILMINGTON, N.C. – Rori Cox continued her scoring ways for the Seahawks with a season-high 21 points in UNCW's 76-67 loss to visiting Drexel on. Sunday in Coastal Athletic Association women's basketball action at Trask Coliseum.

With the road win, Drexel improved to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the league while the Seahawks slipped to 5-12 and 1-5.

The Seahawks outscored the Dragons, 57-55 over the final three quarters, but couldn't overcome a hot opening quarter for Drexel, which shot 58.8% in the opening stanza.

Cox paced the Seahawks with 21 points after going 8-for-12, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, from the floor. Mary Ferrito tied her career-high with six assists and added nine points.

Joining Cox, who led UNCW in scoring for a fifth consecutive game, in double figures were Kyla Silver and Paige Smith with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Amaris Baker, the league's leading scorer, held game-high honors with 24 points and added five rebounds and four assists for Drexel.

The Dragons landed five players in double-digit scoring. Molly Rullo chipped in 15 points, Deja Evans had 11 and both Grace O'Neill and Mariah Williams finished with 10 points apiece. O'Neill handed out five assists and recorded a pair of steals.

Drexel built a 35-26 halftime lead by controlling the paint by scoring 22 points at the rim.
