HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Redshirt sophomore Avery Markham tallied seven kills as UNCW volleyball fell to Hofstra in three sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-14) in a Coastal Athletic Association match on Saturday afternoon at the David S. Mack Center.

Hofstra pushed its perfect record to 9-0 and moved to 2-0 in the CAA, while the Seahawks fell to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Redshirt junior Hannah Forbes added six kills, and sophomore middle hitter Marnie Ursem recorded six total blocks.

Izadora Stedile led Hofstra with 13 kills and 10 digs, posting her second straight double-double.

The Seahawks will continue conference play at home against North Carolina A&T in Hanover Hall on Friday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m.
