Volleyhawks Drop Conference Opener

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Red-shirt junior Hannah Forbes' seven kills led UNCW as the Seahawks dropped their Coastal Athletic Association season-opener in three straight (25-14, 25-19, 25-15) to Hofstra on Friday at the David S. Mack Center.

The Pride remained perfect at 8-0 to open the season while the Seahawks fell to 1-9.

Avery Markham added five kills as the Seahawks were limited to an .083 hitting average.

Izadora Stedile led all hitters for the Pride with 18 kills in 28 attacks. She finished off a double-double with 16 digs.

The series wraps up on Saturday with a 3 p.m. start.
