WILMINGTON, N.C. – No. 25 Ohio State edged UNCW women's soccer 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at UNCW Soccer Stadium.
UNCW fell to 2-2 on the season, while No. 25 Ohio State moved to 1-1-1 overall. The Buckeyes held a 13-3 advantage in total shots, and each team recorded six corners in the match.
After a scoreless 30 minutes, Lily Danner scored on the edge of the six-yard box off a cross from Amanda Schlueter to put Ohio State in front.
In the second half, freshman goalkeeper Zoë Anderson entered as a substitute for UNCW and made three saves in her third career match.Â
Hailey Longwell, Ayanna Parker and Allie Planeaux all tallied shots in the contest for the Seahawks.
Reese Bodas, Alyssa Chuderewicz and Ava Chuderewicz played all 90 minutes in the match for UNCW.
The Seahawks will travel to Greenville, North Carolina, to face East Carolina on Aug. 28 at 6 p.m.
