WILMINGTON, N.C. – Nationally-ranked NC State scored three or more runs in three different innings as the Wolfpack knocked off UNCW, 14-4, on Tuesday at Brooks Field.

The 16th-ranked Wolfpack halted a modest three-game skid with the win to improve to 31-15. The Seahawks slumped to 26-22.

Trailing 3-0 after one inning of play, NC State plated four in the top of the second to grab the lead. Luke Nixon highlighted the inning with a three-run homer to right.

Alex Sosa held game-high honors with four hits for the Wolfpack. He scored twice and was one of four players with at least two runs batted in.

Carson Kelly (1-0) earned the win with three shutout innings in relief.

Bromley Thornton dropped to 0-4 on the season after surrendering four runs in 1.2 innings.

Alec DeMartino connected on his seventh homer for the Seahawks.
