UNCW achieved 27 wins that season, the second most in the program's Division I era, won a share of the league regular season title, reached the CAA Championship Game and captured the program's first postseason tournament crown with the 2022 CBI Championship.

One of the best to ever don the Teal and Navy, Sims will become the fourth Seahawk to play in the NBA when he makes his debut, joining other Seahawk greats Devontae Cacok, Matt Fish and Brian Rowsom.

Sims joined the Toronto Raptors for the 2022 NBA Summer League before signing with the Hornets on Sept. 12, 2022. He was added to the Swarm's opening night roster in November 2022.

During his prep career in the Queen City, Sims earned all-state recognition at United Faith Christian Academy.
