WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four UNCW players reached double figures as the No. 2 seed Seahawks moved past No. 10 seed Hampton 79-65 in the Quarterfinals of the 2025 Jersey Mike's Coastal Athletic Association Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday night at the CareFirst Arena.
The Seahawks (25-7) advance into the CAA Semifinals for the third time in four seasons, where they will play No. 3 Charleston on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
The Pirates conclude their season at 17-16.
Graduate guard Bo Montgomery scored 15 points in the first half on his way to a team-high 18 points. The Holy Cross transfer was joined in double figures by Khamari McGriff (15), Noah Ross (12) and Sean Moore (11).
Hampton's Noah Farrakhan (16) and Trevor Smith (12) scored a combined 28 for the Pirates.
UNCW established a double-digit lead eight minutes into the contest and led 18-5 with 10:23 left in the first half. The Seahawks shot 61.5 percent in the opening 20 minutes to carry a 45-28 advantage into the half.
UNCW built a game-high 19-point lead four times in the first six minutes following the intermission, but Hampton turned up the defensive pressure and pulled within eight points with 4:21 left in the game.
The Seahawks outscored the Pirates 14-8 the rest of the way, including eight made free throws (UNCW was 29-of-34 from the charity stripe), to seal the 79-65 win.
