WILMINGTON, N.C. – Mac Gillespie collected a career-high four hits and Cam Bagwell tossed his second straight shutout as UNCW grabbed the final game of its Coastal Athletic Association series with North Carolina A&T in run-rule fashion by a score of 13-0 on Sunday at Brooks Field.

Leading 1-0 entering the fifth inning, UNCW scored three in the bottom of the inning and then sent 12 hitters to the plate in a nine-run sixth. The Seahawks recorded eight consecutive hits in the outburst.

Gillespie, a red-shirt sophomore, scored twice, knocked in two runs and stole a base. Seven Seahawks including Gillespie, had at least two hits in the game.

Seventeen hits for UNCW were a season-high.

Bagwell who tossed a perfect game in his last outing, scattered two hits over his seven innings, walked none and struck out four. He dropped his earned average to 1.69 and improved to 5-0.
