Baseball Drops Series At Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell outslugged UNCW, 17-9, on Saturday to clinch a Coastal Athletic Association series win at Jim Perry Stadium.

The Camels improved to 10-12 overall and 2-0 in the league. The Seahawks, meanwhile, slid to 11-12 and 0-2.

Jonah Oster led the Camels with a game-high four hits as CU collected 16 hits on the afternoon. He was one of six Camels to have at least two hits. Joey Morton knocked in five runs on the strength of three hits.

Bromley Thornton had three hits and two runs batted in for the Seahawks.

Jack Gibson (0-2) was saddled with the loss in relief while Lleyton Grubich (1-1) evened his record with the win. Grubich allowed just one run over 3.2 innings of relief.

The series concludes with a 2 p.m. start on Sunday.
