CONWAY, South Carolina – The UNCW softball team dropped a 9-0 decision in five innings on the road at Coastal Carolina on Tuesday afternoon at St. John Stadium.
The Chanticleers improved to 24-6 overall, including a 16-4 home record. The Seahawks dipped to 15-11.
Coastal scored in each of the first three innings, including a six-run third that was capped by a two-run double off the bat of Delaney Keith.
The Chants Abby Henderson (7-3) tossed four scoreless innings and struck out three Seahawks in the win.
UNCW's Peyton Eckert (1-3) and Lynsie Herman each worked two innings in the midweek matchup that closed out a 13-game road stretch.
The Seahawks return to Boseman Field for the first time since Feb. 23 when it hosts North Carolina A&T for a three-game Coastal Athletic Association set this weekend.
