Seahawks See Flames Even Series

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Liberty's Ben Blair held UNCW in check over seven innings and Jaxon Sorenson belted a three-run homer to key the Flames in a 4-2 win over the Seahawks on Saturday at Brooks Field.

The Flames moved to 7-3 with the road win while the Seahawks slid to 6-5.

Blair (2-0) struck out six, walked one, allowed two hits and a run in picking up the win. Tyler August earned the save, his second of the season.

Sorenson's homer came in the top of the fifth. Michael Robertson drew a two-out walk and Tanner Marsh followed with a single. Sorenson belted the first offering from UNCW starter Connor Marshburn (1-1) over the wall in center to make it 3-1 Flames.

Tanner Thach had two hits while Trevor Lucas knocked in a run for UNCW on a sacrifice fly. Ryker Galaska also plated a run on a ground ball out in the second inning.

The series concludes with a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.
