Pirates Turn Back Seahawks, 83-70

HAMPTON, Virginia – The Hampton men's basketball team turned back UNCW 83-70 on Saturday behind 40 combined points by George Beale Jr. and Wayne Bristol Jr. at the Hampton Convocation Center.

The Pirates won their fourth-straight game and upped their record to 15-13 with a 7-8 Coastal Athletic Association mark. The Seahawks now stand 21-7 and 11-4 in the league.

UNCW was led in scoring by Noah Ross, who finished with 15 points, while Khamari McGriff contributed 11 points.

Beale and Bristol each went for 20 points and were joined in double figures by Noah Farrakhan's 15 markers.

Hampton led by as many as 19 points and carried a 43-26 lead into halftime behind a strong shooting performance. The Pirates shot 52.8 percent from the field and converted 15-of-23 three-point attempts on Saturday.

UNCW continues its road swing on Monday at William & Mary at 6 p.m. That contest was rescheduled from Feb. 20, 2025 due to winter weather last week.
