WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Junior Elif Albayrak picked up a three-set victory as UNCW women's tennis fell in its season opener to William & Mary, the defending Coastal Athletic Association Champions, 6-1, at McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on Sunday.
After dropping the first set 1-6, Albayrak dominated the final two sets, 6-2, 6-3, claiming the victory in No. 5 singles against Mira Kernagis.
The Tribe improved to 5-1 on the season, while the Seahawks will look for their first victory on Friday at Presbyterian (3-8). The match will begin at noon.
