MEN'S HOOPS CELEBRATES 75 SEASONS
No one could have imagined the heights the UNCW men's basketball program has experienced when William J. "Bill" Brooks was hired as Wilmington College's first athletic director, basketball coach, baseball coach and chairman of the health and physical education department in September of 1951.

Now, as the program prepares for its 75th season since the hiring of Coach Brooks, reflections on memorable moments and milestones, highlighted by Tidal Rising, a historic men's basketball documentary series presented by Southeast Mortgage, will be celebrated throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

SEAHAWKS PICKED SECOND IN CAA PRESEASON POLL
UNCW was projected to finish second in the Coastal Athletic Association Preseason Poll.

The 2025 CAA Champion Seahawks, who received five first-place votes, were four points behind preseason favorite Towson, last year's regular season victor, who collected seven first-place tallies. Charleston rounded out the coaches' poll top three with one first-place vote.

Senior guard CJ Luster II garnered Preseason All-CAA First Team recognition following a standout 2024-25 campaign at Stony Brook. The Denton, Texas, native averaged 16.8 points and shot 42.1 percent from three-point range to earn All-CAA Third Team honors one year ago before transferring to UNCW this offseason.

Hodge and Ross were named All-CAA Preseason Honorable Mentions as they enter their fourth season with the Port City program.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
The Highlanders look to snap a four-game losing skid that included road setbacks to nationally-ranked North Carolina and South Carolina. Both wins this year have come at home this year.

Guards Del Jones and Dennis Parker Jr. are averaging a combined 30.8 points through six starts.

ON THE DOCKET
The Seahawks next return home to stage the second-annual Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic from Nov. 26-29 at Trask Coliseum. UNCW will host Southeastern Louisiana, Navy and Gardner-Webb in the round-robin event.
