WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW men's tennis will begin the quest for its 12th overall and sixth straight Coastal Athletic Association championship with another strong schedule in 2026.
Last spring, UNCW earned a 4-2 victory against Elon to claim the 2025 CAA Championship. The Seahawks finished the season ranked 67th by the International Tennis Association and faced No. 26 Georgia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
In 2026, UNCW will face six opponents who finished the 2025 season ranked inside the top 65.
"We are always striving to be amongst the best teams in the country, and you can only do that by competing against the top teams," head coach Mait DuBois said. "We are excited to start our season playing for a national indoor championship. We have the kind of team that really gets up for big matches, and I'm happy that we will have so many opportunities."
The Seahawks will kick off the 2026 portion of their schedule at the International Tennis Association Kickoff on Friday, Jan. 23, in Austin, Texas.Â
UNCW will battle Texas, the national semifinalists, in the season opener. The Seahawks will face either South Florida or Washington the following day.
UNCW will play 11 dual matches at home this season, including three straight to begin the month of February against Coastal Carolina (Feb. 6), Queens (Feb. 8) and Presbyterian (Feb. 13).
From March 10-14, the Seahawks will host the 2025 Battle at the Beach Tournament, competing against Kennesaw State, Lehigh, and CAA foe William & Mary.
The Seahawks will also have five more home matches towards the end of the regular season, facing Wichita State (March 18), CAA foe Drexel (March 26), DePaul (March 28), Georgia State (April 3) and former CAA opponent Delaware (April 4).
Early road matchups include Georgia Tech (Jan. 31), North Florida (Feb. 20), UCF (Feb. 22), Oregon (March 1), and two matches in Santa Barbara, California, against UCSB (March 4) and Texas Tech (March 6).
The Seahawks will also play road matches against former CAA rival VCU (March 22) and Liberty (April 11). UNCW will end the regular season with a neutral-site contest against Tulsa (April 12) in Charlotte, North Carolina.Â
The 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Men's Tennis Championship will be hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, from April 17-19.
