Miralrio Sends Men's Soccer Back Into The Postseason

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Bryan Miralrio notched his first career brace to lift UNCW past Campbell, 2-1, on Wednesday night at the Eakes Athletics Complex, securing a trip to the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament for the Seahawks.

The win improved the Seahawks to 4-3 in league play and 5-7-2 overall. UNCW, which reached the finals of the conference tournament in 2024, return to the postseason for a CAA-record 29th time. The Fighting Camels, who also will play in the postseason, ended their regular season at 4-2-2 in CAA play and 9-5-4 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Miralrio started the scoring in the 52nd minute of the match. Miralrio collected a loose ball in the penalty area following a cross from the leftside and slid it into an open net for the lead.

Campbell tied the match in the 71st minute on Evan Dapaah's second goal of the season off a feed from Lilian Fichelle.

Miralrio restored the lead in the 83rd minute of the match, this time with assists being credited to Jake Shannon and Gavin Carmichael. It was Miralrio's fourth goal of the season and his first game-winner.

This game was a resumption of the game originally played on September 9, that was suspended due to inclement weather during the first half.

UNCW concludes its regular season November 1st at 7 p.m. on the road at rival Charleston Cougars before the CAA Tournament begins on November 6.
