Seahawks Play to 1-1 Draw at Campbell on Sunday

BUIES CREEK, N.C – UNCW women's soccer ended the 2025 regular season unbeaten in Coastal Athletic Association play with a 1-1 draw at Campbell on Sunday afternoon at Eakes Athletic Complex.

UNCW, the 2025 CAA South Division Champions, increased its win total from the 2024 season by seven, finishing the 2025 regular season with an 11-3-3 overall record.

UNCW also ends the regular season with a league-best 23 points and a 7-0-2 record in the CAA, becoming the first team to finish a non-shortened season of conference play unbeaten since Hofstra in 2019.

It is the first time in the program's history (32nd season) in which UNCW finished a full CAA regular season with an unbeaten record. During the shortened 2020 season, which was played in the spring of 2021, UNCW went 4-0 during conference play.

UNCW's nine-match unbeaten streak tied the second-longest unbeaten streak in program history, which occurred back in 2015. The Seahawks also went 5-0-3 on the road during the 2025 regular season, their only unbeaten regular season on the road in program history.

With the draw, Campbell finished their season 4-7-5 overall and 2-4-3 in the league.

The Seahawks struck early into the match, scoring in the third minute as Kayla Adams found the back of the net for the third time this season.

Adams placed a diving header in the lower-right corner after a left-footed cross from Hailey Longwell. Longwell extended her points streak to seven matches, picking up her fourth assist of the season to tie Adams for the most on the team.

Longwell closed out the regular season leading all players in the CAA with six goals and 15 points during conference play.

The Camels equalized in the 69th minute on a strike from Olivia Vandre.

In the 87th minute, Adams nearly gave UNCW the lead with an identical header from earlier, but Campbell's goalkeeper JLo Varada came up with a diving save for her seventh stop of the match.

Morgan Hobbs made five saves for UNCW, finishing the regular season with a 10-3-3 record and a 7-0-2 mark in conference play, the most conference wins by any CAA goalkeeper this season.

The Seahawks had a 15-12 edge in total shots, including a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal.

UNCW, the No. 1 overall seed for the 2025 CAA Championship, will host the semifinal round of the tournament on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. The Seahawks will face the winner of No. 2 William & Mary and No. 3 Elon.
