MOUNT PLEASANT, South Carolina – UNCW senior Emily Bowbliss scored a 62nd-minute goal as the Seahawks played Charleston to a 1-1 draw in Thursday afternoon Coastal Athletic Association women's soccer action at Patriots Point.
The Seahawks stand 2-6-3 with a 0-2-1 league mark ahead of Senior Day on Sunday vs. Drexel. The Cougars are now 7-3-2 overall including a 0-2-1 CAA record.
Bowbliss' first goal of the season was assisted on a cross from graduate student Lexi Vegoda that neutralized a 52nd-minute score by Charleston's Avery Nassetta after both teams played a rainy scoreless first half.
The two teams combined for 24 shots, including 14 in the second half.
Goalkeeper Morgan Hobbs totaled a career-high six saves while Charleston netminder Ainsley Chunn added five saves.
Bowbliss and Vegoda are two of eight Seahawks that will be honored in Sunday's Senior Day ceremony along with Summer Beesley, Kayla Burroughs, Ainsley Norr, Makenna Nunez, Ayla Vaneus and Sophia Zinn.
