Magazine Paces UNCW At Northeastern

BOSTON, Mass. – A'siya Magazine collected 12 kills in 16 attacks for UNCW, the Seahawks fell in four sets at Northeastern in Coastal Athletic Association volleyball action on Sunday at Cabot Center.

The Huskies (4-6) finished off a sweep of the Seahawks and moved to 2-0 in the CAA to open the conference schedule. UNCW, meanwhile, fell to 3-6 overall and 0-2.

Magazine was joined in double-figure kills by Liv Womble with 10. Magazine finished with a career-high .688. Womble added three total blocks.

Grace Melnick added eight kills, three aces and six blocks for UNCW.

Kinley Gomez and Georgia Stavrinides paced the Huskies with 12 kills apiece and Millie Loehr added 11 kills of her own. Kaylin Daniels posted eight blocks and Loehr had five.

UNCW hosts Elon on Sept. 28-29 when it returns to action.
