Campbell Edges UNCW in CAA Opener

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's soccer team opened Coastal Athletic Association play with a 2-0 setback vs. Campbell at the UNCW Soccer Stadium on Thursday night.

The Camels evened their record to 3-3-3 and are 1-0 in the league. The Seahawks, meanwhile, stand 2-5-2 and 0-1 in the CAA.

UNCW held a 17-5 shot advantage in the contest, but the Campbells found the back of the net in each period to earn the win.

The Camels' first goal came in the 38th minute on a corner that bounced around the box before Kendall Lincoln drilled it in.

Campbell added an insurance goal with Abby Connolly's third goal of the season in the 64th minute.

UNCW will next play at William & Mary on Sunday at 1 p.m.
